Boosie BadAzz wasn't going to leave you hanging. Just as summer draws to a close, the preternaturally talented Louisianan drops off a surprise three-song EP to show off his crew and to soundtrack your last couple of cookouts. Three Peat draws on the same righteous rage as this year's Touchdown 2 Cause Hell, but Boosie cedes some time on the mic to his crew: The Syndicate, Tone, OG Dre and Lil Lonni all appear here in what are sure to be turns of professional benefit. If you've never been South of the Mason-Dixon line, or if you've actively chosen to avoid both fun and introspection in your rap music, you might not be familiar with the man formerly known as Lil Boosie. First popping up at the turn of the century with his minor classic Youngest of da Camp, Baton Rouge's favorite song quickly became a local hero. Marrying a sneering need for vengeance to a genuine love for his children and his city, Boosie's work spread out of the Bayou and filled every crevice of the American South in the mid-2000s. He became a cult figure of sorts during his half-decade of incarceration, which finally ended last March. Upon his release, Boosie went on an inhuman tear, dropping a series of blistering singles and a mixtape, Life After Deathrow, that ranks among his best work. By the time Touchdown hit earlier this year, the "Set It Off" star arguably enjoyed a higher national profile than he ever had before.
