Rapper Finese2Tymes was reportedly arrested early Sunday (July 2), but contrary to original reports, the arrest has no connection to the shooting that occurred at an Arkansas nightclub where he performed Saturday night (July 1). Just one day after the shooting, the Memphis rapper was taken into custody on an unrelated gun charge, which U.S. Marshal Cliff LaBarge originally said was in connection to the nightclub incident.

According to CNN, LaBarge stated that Tymes was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon in connection to the shooting the took place at Power Ultra Lounge in Little Rock, Ark. Those reports are apparently false, as his arrest was separate to the club shooting that left 28 people injured. LaBarge corrected his original statement, reporting that the rhymer's gun charge actually comes out of Forrest City, Ark.

Finese2Tymes' initial arrest took place outside of a nightclub in Birmingham, Ala. on Sunday, and so far there's no word on whether he will be extradited to Arkansas.

The original incident that took place at Power Ultra Lounge left 28 people injured, with 25 of those individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. The other three suffered other injuries stemming from club attendees rushing out of the venue as shots fired off inside. CNN reports that two people are currently in critical condition, while the others face non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities believe that the shootings stemmed from gang activity, and should not be classified as an act of terror.

"We do not believe this was an act of terror," Police Chief Kenton Buckner told the press. "Some sort of dispute ensued."

A user on Twitter, who was in attendance of the performance by Finese2Tymes, said that he recalls about 50 shots being fired off inside of the venue.

We will keep you updated on Finese2Tymes' status for his unrelated gun charge, as the police continue to investigate the nightclub shooting.
