The trial in the case of XXXTentacion's alleged beating of a pregnant woman finally has an official start date in court after a lengthy wait. After being charged last year with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and witness-tampering, the Florida rapper will appear in court on Dec. 11.

According to Pitchfork, online records reveal that the trial will begin at the end of 2017 for the charges that X previously pled not guilty to. The 17 entertainer has been claiming his innocence in the case in both interviews and on social media over the last year. If he is convicted of the charges during the trial, he could face some heavy prison time.

If you recall, the rapper was arrested and charged last year for the alleged beating of his then-girlfriend, with the trial having been originally scheduled to start on Oct. 5. Reports revealed last week that the trial had been delayed, which could have been due to the Florida rapper's lawyer not making X’s witnesses available for deposition yet. He also indicated that the rapper wouldn’t be available until “late October or early November.”

XXXTentacion released his 17 album in August.
