Throughout his meteoric rise from local street rapper to legitimate star, French Montana has always paid tribute and homage to his incarcerated friend and collaborator Max B. His latest mixtape, Wave Gods, features Max on the intro and while he couldn't travel across the world with French for the "Wave Gods Intro" video, Montana brings his friend with him in the form of a recorded phone conversation.

As a banging Bad Company-sampled instrumental from Harry Fraud rings out, the "Pop That" rapper rides through the sand dunes on the outskirts of Dubai as he overlooks the city. By including Max B in the clip and shouting out the late Chinx Drugz, French remembers where he came from and the people who helped him become a success.

"It has a special vibe to it," French told The FADER. "It’s deep. I think it means a lot to all the fans who understand the wave and that’s why it’s special...As soon as we started shooting we heard the call to prayer and it felt good because everything I’m talking about in the song is personal and emotional to me and it meant a lot to be able have that moment."

Wave Gods, which the Bronx rapper called his “best work,” debuted on DJ Khaled's Beats 1 Radio show We the Best Radio back in February. The 12-song project features Future, Nas, Kanye West, Travi$ Scott, Big Sean, Puff, Jadakiss, A$AP Rocky and the late Chinx. It also features the previously released track “Sanctuary 2.” While Wave Gods continues to hold fans over, the hip-hop world still patiently awaits French's sophomore LP, Mac and Cheese: The Album.
