The numbers are in, and the results show, even after not dropping a project since 2013's Acid Rap, Chance The Rapper has a lot of fans. Or at least a lot of people intrigued enough by his buzz to test out his free LP. According to the Chicago rapper his album with Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment, Surf, was downloaded over 600,000 times. On the singles front, individual tracks were downloaded over 10 million times. The eclectic MC recently took to Twitter to relay the good news. "First week #Surf @iTunesMusic stats: 618k full album downloads, 10,198,708 single tracks total," he typed.

The significant number is more than Drake, Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky's album did in their first week on the 'Net. However, the feat is somewhat diminished because the project was free for all to download. A fact that Chance proudly notes. "The best thing about #surf is that this is only the first week of it being free, forever," he typed in a follow up tweet.

Chance announced the highly anticipated LP was finished in late May. Then a day later the project popped up on iTunes. The 16-track album features the likes of Raury, J. Cole, Big Sean, Jeremih, BJ the Chicago Kid, Busta Rhymes, Janelle Monáe, B.o.B, Erykah Badu and many others.
