New Study Shows Metro Boomin Is Biggest U.S. Hit Songwriter of the Year So Far
Metro Boomin has earned a slew of different achievements over the past few years, but he might have landed one of the biggest titles to his name yet. According to a study involving a new quarterly chart compiled by Royalty Exchange, the super producer has been named as the biggest songwriter of the year so far in the U.S.
Reports say that the title was achieved through a points system that earns songwriters different amounts for their hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the first quarter of the year. The chart shows that a song can earn 1,000 points for a No.1 record and go down 10 points for each subsequent weekly placing. The points are split amongst the songwriters for the track, which creates a cumulative total every week in the quarter.
The site says that Boominati Worldwide head "contributed to no less than" none hits on the Hot 100 in the United States for the first quarter. Boomin has produced five Top 10 records on the Hot 100 Chart.
The songs that landed Metro the title include Post Malone’s “Congratulations” with Quavo, Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” with Lil Uzi Vert, Future’s “Mask Off,” Kodak Black’s “Tunnel Vision” and Big Sean’s “Bounce Back.”
Coming in second place on the list of songwriters is Taylor Swift, while Ed Sheeran comes in third place.
Congratulations to Metro Boomin for another outstanding achievement in his career.
