Nelly Sued for Sexual Assault and Defamation
The woman who accused Nelly of raping her back in October is now suing him for sexual assault and defamation. According to TMZ, the St. Louis rapper is facing a new lawsuit from the alleged victim, whose name is Monique Greene. Earlier this month the case was dropped after she refused to testify in the criminal case against him.
In a new statement, Nelly’s attorney responded to the new lawsuit by saying, “It comes as no surprise that Ms. Green filed a lawsuit against Nelly seeking money after we announced our intention to hold her accountable. We always believed her accusation was motivated by greed." Nelly's team plans to countersue, something they previously stated last week.
Green told the outlet she was invited onto Nelly's tour bus at a Wal-Mart parking lot on Oct. 6 when they left his concert after-party together at a Seattle nightclub. When she walked to the back of the bus and sat on his bed, she claims the veteran entertainer began masturbating and then had sex with her orally and vaginally against her will. Following the incident, Greene says that she screamed to get off the bus, which is when Nelly's entourage pushed her off, with Nelly allegedly handing her a $100 bill and telling her "bye bye."
She also says that Nelly and his crew taunted her when she got off of the bus, which is when she called an uber, as well as 911. The police arrived to question her and the rapper, who then arrested him for second-degree rape. She claims that Nelly and his team started a "smear campaign" against her, after denying the allegations, when they publicly stated she was only after "money, fame and notoriety."
