Today (Nov. 26) marks the end of an era, as Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro has died at the age of 90.

Mixed feeling are spreading about the death, as the polarizing leader was seen as a hero by some and a villain by others. Nas is offering his condolences, as he saw Castro as someone who was an ally in the plight of African Americans.

Earlier today, Esco posted a photo of Castro and Malcolm X on his Instagram page. He captioned the pic, "RIP KING FIDEL CASTRO #revolutionary only 5% understand. Im not Cuban, I don't fully know how he affected my Cuban family, so I'm sending strength and power for your pains. But lots Of us, as Black people, n some others in the USA, we saw him as an Ally in the Struggle."

The Nasty One is no stranger to speaking his mind on political issues. He conducted an interview with Ebony Magazine earlier this month where he talked about the need to not to sit idle when social problems are concerned. “When I see injustice it hurts, so I speak about it,” he said. “It just so happens I might be wearing a Dries Van Noten suit while I’m speaking.

“I like things in the world that are appealing to the eye. So why lie about it?” he continued. “One thing that kills me is these holier than thou, super clean phonies who walk around like they live in heaven and they’re a step above everybody else. No, we’re human beings striving to be the best we can be. We’re striving for greatness all the time.”

Nas' clothing label HSTORY is currently selling Kneeling Santa Christmas sweaters dedicated to Colin Kaepernick's protest.
