Meek Mill has finally been released from prison but while the rapper and his legal team feel that justice has been served, they still feel Meek's release is bittersweet.

On Tuesday (April 24), TMZ caught up with the rapper's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, who spoke about Meek's freedom and why they're upset that it took so long. "It's so bittersweet," Tacopina said. "I mean, it's sweet obviously because justice is finally been served... But bitter because it's taken this amount of time."

The lawyer also took a shot at the judge on the case and said he believes she eventually will remove herself from presiding over the matter. "A judge who just could not be fair and impartial but just really had to go to extremes to try and extract punishment from Meek," Tacopina said of Judge Genece Brinkley.

While the Wins & Losses rapper is now a free man, he still has a hearing scheduled for June to determine if his conviction will be overturned. Although Judge Brinkley may still be overseeing the case come time for the hearing, Tacopina doesn't believe Meek will be back behind bars.

"We're not worried that this case is ever going to stand because the prosecutor and the defense both agree the case needs to be dismissed for constitutional violations and overturned," the lawyer said. "He's never going back to jail."

Following his release from prison, Meek released a lengthy statement thanking those around him for the support he received. The rapper also thanked the Philadelphia District Attorney's office for its "commitment to justice."
