Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, has teamed up with comedian and actor Mike Epps for a third year in a row to celebrate her son's 40th birthday. The event will take place on June 16, 2011 at Atlanta’s Symphony Hall.

The birthday bash will feature performances from hip-hop heavyweights Bun B, Too Short, DJ Drama, Meek Mill, 8 Ball and MJG as well as Erykah Badu. XXL Freshman and MMG signee, Meek Mill, will pay tribute to the legend by performing his hit single “Tupac Back."

Since 2009, presenters Mike Epps and Afeni Shakur have hosted legions of Tupac fans for a day of music, art and culture in remembrance of the icon’s influence and legacy. Some of the most recognizable names in hip-hop have participated in the annual charity event including Rick Ross, Wacka Flocka, Lil Scrappy, M1 of Dead Prez and more.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation for the Arts. or more information and concert updates visit www.16thofjune.com. —Nicole LoPresti
