It’s been just over three months since Adam “MCA” Yauch of the iconic Beastie Boys died on May 4, after a long bout with cancer via a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node. He was 47.

Now, comes the news of Yauch’s will, which Rolling Stone reports was filed on Tuesday (August 7) in Manhattan Surrogate court, prohibiting the use of his music and “artistic property” for advertising purposes after his death.

"Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, in no event may my image or name or any music or any artistic property created by me be used for advertising purposes," reads a copy of the will obtained by Rolling Stone.  The phrase "or any music or any artistic property created by me" was added in handwriting.

In addition, Yauch’s will also revealed that he left his $6.4 million estate to his wife, Dechen, and their daughter, Tenzin Losel.—XXL Staff
