Philly rapper Matt Ox has been making a name from himself in hip-hop circles by collaborating with the likes of XXXTentacion and jumping into crowds at his shows after releasing his viral track “Overwhelming” last year. Now, he’s landed himself a record deal with one of the most respected labels in the business. The 13-year-old artist recently signed a deal with Motown Records, and is already hard at work on his debut album, which is set for release in late October.

On Friday (Oct. 12), Matt Ox released “Zero Degrees,” his first single from the album. In comparison to songs like "Yeah Yeah," Ox ditches the Auto-Tune and spits bars on spending cash and flexing his new drip. "You can be a friend of mines, you can be a friend of me/Everything I'm wearing mines, VLONE on my Polo tee/And my neck, zero degrees/Spending check on some jeans," he raps over rattling, woozy production.

With less than 10 official songs out right now, the kid Ox, who made it big after the "Overwhelming" video of him playing with fidget spinners went viral, has managed to make his way onto chart-topping albums like XXXTentacion’s ?, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in March. He appears on the hook of the smooth song titled “$$$.”

“Why you gotta sleep on my crew?/You know that my VVS' blue/My gang gonna eat real soon/All you little haters is doomed,” Ox raps on the chorus.

Since then, Ox has been seen rocking with Chief Keef, PnB Rock, Lil Yachty, Meek Mill and Post Malone. Towards the end of 2017, Ox was caught cooking up in the studio with Lil Uzi Vert. In a video posted to Ox’s Twitter timeline, Uzi is seen rocking to the music as his diamond-encrusted chain sways side to side. Meanwhile, the young spitter is unleashing bars with ease and leaves Uzi slightly impressed. Will Uzi appear on his debut album? We'll see when the project releases later this month.
