Lil Uzi Vert Is a No-Show at 2017 Soundset Festival
Lil Uzi Vert was a no-show at the 2017 Soundset Festival in Minnesota, and some fans are pissed.
Soundset, Minnesota's premiere festival event, was set to feature the likes of Gucci Mane, Pusha T, T.I., Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, Dave East and more. Mac Miller pulled out a few days before the show and Uzi inexplicably didn't perform.
Fans were clearly upset and confused by Uzi's no-show with some taking to Twitter to voice their disdain. "Fuck Lil Uzi on some real shit, can't show up to Soundset?," one person tweeted. "Lil uzi not showing up to soundset really put a hurt in my day," someone else posted.
Uzi has yet to take to social media, or otherwise, to reveal the reason for his absence. He did send out the following tweet, which could imply that he is deep at work on his upcoming album posting, "My brain ... I'm going crazy ..2®."
Artists have been pulling out of scheduled festival performances left and right, for one reason or another. Last week, Mac Miller cancelled his set at the 2017 Soundset Festival and the 2017 Sasquatch! Festival. “Soundset and Sasquatch, I will not be performing this weekend. Thank you for understanding. I’ll be back. Love always,” Mac tweeted to fans. Speculation is that the Pittsburgh MC cancelled to be with his boo thing, Ariana Grande following the Manchester Concert Bombing that took place at one of her shows.
Frank Ocean has cancelled three festival appearances in the last month. Three weeks ago, he cancelled upcoming performances at Sasquatch! and the 2017 Hangout Festival in Alabama, citing production delays. Over the weekend, it was revealed that he has also pulled out of the 2017 Primavera Sound Festival as well.
Kevin Gates and Kodak Black are also artists who have had to pull out of shows, with their obvious reasoning being incarceration.
