Lil Uzi Vert Once Again Teases ‘Eternal Atake’ Album
Lil Uzi Vert has been teasing his Eternal Atake album for months. On Friday (Nov. 30), he updated fans again on the forthcoming LP - sort of.
The Philadelphia rapper notified fans of the status of the album on his Instagram story. For the story, he posted a photo of two girls and a man standing on a street corner, along with the words, "If you waited this long, why not wait a little longer 😘🔥."
Uzi first referenced the project back in July when he tweeted "Eternal Atake...Eternal means forever. Atake means 2 overtake."
Two weeks later, he shared the artwork for the album, which references the infamous Heaven's Gate cult, a group whose members committed mass suicide in 1997. The surviving members of the group have since threatened legal action against the former XXL Freshman.
"He is using and adapting our copyrights and trademarks without our permission and the infringement will be taken up with our attorneys," a rep for the group wrote in an e-mail. "This is not fair use or parody, it it a direct and clear infringement."
It is unclear if the rapper will continue to use the artwork on the LP.
In September, Uzi released the single "New Patek," which is believed to be on the new album. Despite having a big year, Uzi did not release a solo project after dropping two times in 2017 including his debut album Luv Is Rage 2.
