Lil Durk has been one of the artists out of Chicago who has managed to maintain relevance as his city went through different musical eras. He's been releasing music with consistency as of late, and now he has a new visual for his track "Cross Roads."

The somber, Jerry PHD-directed video is mostly dark, starting with Durk distraught in front of a closed casket. Soon after, clips of deceased friends and family (including Fredo Santana) are playing. Durk then raps in a rainy alley, wrapped up in his thoughts. Durk also performs in front of the casket from the opening scene.

Durk's lyrics on this song are particularly poignant. The hook samples the classic Bone Thugs-N-Harmony song "The Crossroads," and the Chicago rapper does it justice. He also questions if people really cared for Fredo Santana in relation to how they mourned his death online. Lines like, "That shit with Fredo got me tweakin'/They not cryin', they just tweetin'/Ain't no time to do no grievin'," come from Durk's heart; a loved one showing honest concern. "Percocet come out my pores/You don't feel that when they die 'til it happen to yours."

Lil Durk has hit the ground running in 2018. In February, he shot a video with Gunna for their collaboration "Lies About You." Up next was the release of Durk's latest EP, Just Cause Y'all Waited, his first project since leaving Def Jam Recordings. He also freed the visual for his song "When I Was Little," which also appears on the EP.
