Kodak Black has been sentenced to 364 days, roughly a year, in county jail for violating his house arrest, reports Brett Clarkson of the Florida newspaper The Sun SentinelIf he completes life skills courses in jail, however, he could apparently be out in a month.

The 19-year-old rapper, born Dieuson Octave, has been in jail since Feb. 28, when he was arrested at a court hearing for violating the terms of his house arrest. Today (May 4) was the third and final of Kodak's latest court dates after being found guilty last week.

At a hearing in a Fort Lauderdale courtroom today, Kodak started by firing his two attorneys, Gary Kollin and Allan Stephen Zamren, and hiring a new one, Brad Cohen.

The Broward Beach rapper made a plea to Judge Michael Lynch, saying he knew "depending on the outcome of this, it could be the beginning of my career, or the end of my career."

Cohen argued Kodak isn't exactly ready for all the responsibilities coming his way, citing a recent tour rider of Kodak's that contained a Playstation 4 and some Golden Oreos. His lawyer also said Kodak bonded two random people from Pompano out of the Broward main jail while he's been behind bars.

Facing up to eight years in prison, Kodak got a good deal. If he completes the life skills course, 180 days will be shaved off his sentence. At that point, Kodak's time served would count towards the remaining portion of his sentence, and he'd be out sooner rather than later.
