After impressively debuting last week as the top-selling rap album on the Billboard Top 200 charts, Kid Cudi’s WZRD fell steeply from No. 3 to No. 34 this week, clearing the way for YMCMB to take the throne as Drake’s Take Care moved up one spot to No. 7 and Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV surged from No. 37 to No. 8.

Drizzy’s tape remains a fixture on the charts, sitting at the top 10 for the second straight week. After pushing out 57,800 copies in its seventeenth week in stores, Take Care’s tally stands at 1,582,600, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Into the bargain, Weezy’s latest disc is one spot behind Drake, powered by selling 35,900 more units. TCIV’s upswing coincidentally ensued days after Wayne’s “DEWeezy” campaign with Mountain Dew launched, as previously reported by XXLMag.com. Birdman Jr.’s LP has been purchased 2,074,500 times after 28 weeks.

Meanwhile, Tyga completed the YMCMB trifecta thanks to his album Careless World: Rise of the Last King, which is the third top-selling rap album this week despite tumbling eights spots to No. 14. The California rapper pulled in 22,200 units this time around, bringing its total to 121,000.

Contrary to Young Money’s success on the charts, as previously mentioned, Cudder slumped this week. Cudi’s collaborative LP with producer Dot da Genius managed to bring in 10,400 in sales over the last week but fell 31 slots. WZRD’s has accumulated a tally of 76,500 in its lone two weeks.

Besides Cudi’s fall and YMCMB’s dominance, TM: 103 Hustlerz Ambition by Young Jeezy was picked up 14,000 times this sales cycle, helping it bump up from No. 26 to No. 25. Since debuting 12 weeks ago, TM: 103 has sold 507,200 units.

Rounding off the Top 40 is Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne at the No. 36 spot, nine slots down from last week. The collaborative record sold an even 10,000 discs this sales cycle. WTT’s overall sum is 1,374,000 after 31 weeks of availability. —Christopher Minaya (@CM_3)
