Kanye West is living the good life this week. While he awaits the arrival of his son, the rapper is celebrating a big honor by winning Shoe of the Year at the 2015 Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York on Wednesday night (Dec. 2).

When it comes to hip-hop, it's no secret that West's Adidas Yeezy Boost has become the must-have kicks of 2015 and are well-deserving of the award. They sell out fast, show up on eBay for ridiculous prices and have been the shoe of choice for a slew of rappers and celebrities this year. Travi$ Scott, Big Sean and 2 Chainz are just a few of the Swish creator's famous friends who've been rocking the Boosts from shows to the club. And don't forget the Kardashian clan.

Yeezy stepped up to the podium to accept his award and gave a shout out to his growing family. “I’m waiting on my son to arrive any day now and I look at my daughter and I look at my wife and she’s rich,” he joked in his speech. “And I don’t plan on being broke.”

And for those that aren't a fan of his lengthy dialogue at awards ceremonies, he gave fair warning, according to the NY Daily News. “If you don’t like 10-minute profanity-laden speeches that end in a presidential bid, I suggest you go to the bathroom now,” the Chicago MC said, referring to his MTV Video Music Awards speech in August.

The Yeezy Boost 350 style has certainly dominated the market, causing everyone from sneakerheads to stars to the casual shoe fan to take notice and cop. Once West wore the 750 high-tops at a Grammys brunch earlier this year, he launched what would become one of the most coveted sneakers of 2015.
