Kanye West Gives Man on the Street $100 and Promises Him Free Yeezys
Kanye West gets philanthropic. After reportedly leaving a dentist's appointment in Chicago on Friday (Oct. 5) the rapper and designer took time to speak with a man, who appeared to be homeless, which turned out to be a pretty beautiful moment.
The man spotted Kanye and began shouting his name, footage obtained by TMZ shows. Although it's difficult to hear what he says exactly that catches Kanye's ear, the controversial MC stopped in his tracks and walked over to the man. He later asked the man what his name was, and what his mother's information was. 'Ye also informed his security detail to get the contact information for the man and his mother. At one point, he also says he'd hook the stranger up with some free Yeezys.
This isn't Kanye's first run-in with a homeless man. Last week, he invited a homeless man off the street to the studio after he was impressed with his raps.
Given Kanye's recent headline-grabbing behavior, such as his pro-Donald Trump rant following his appearance on Saturday Night Live, and his declaration that he's postponing his Yandhi album to record in Africa, one might think that this moment captured on camera was an attempt at some damage control. But it seems like a genuinely kind moment between the rapper and a stranger in his hometown of Chicago.
