Fans were left scatterbrained when Saturday (Sept. 29) came and went without any word on Kanye West's Yandhi album, which was slated for release that day. As promised, Kanye visited Harvey Levin at TMZ today (Oct. 1) and explained that the album is delayed so that he can record it in Africa.

Ye said that he "felt the roots" during his time in Chicago and wanted to take it one step further to record his next project in Africa, and plans to release it on Black Friday, which is Nov. 23.

"The album is so good," he said. "I’m incorporating sounds you’ve never heard before and pushing concepts that people don’t talk about. We have concepts about body shaming, and women being looked down upon because of how many people they’ve slept with."

Kanye also said that this album would be a departure from the previous five he helped produce and release this year through G.O.O.D. Music, which he referred to as a time of "superhero rehabilitation."

“Now the alien Ye is fully back in mode, off medication, working out, breathing as much fresh air as possible, thinking, doing, being his self. And when I say I’m being myself I don’t mean that I’m being Donald Trump, I’m being me, and I’m punk. I can where whatever I want ‘cause I’m a god.”

As you may recall, Kanye stirred up some controversy when he appeared on Saturday Night Live last weekend to perform "I Love It" with Lil Pump, and ended the show by going on an unscripted, pro-President Donald Trump rant. The monologue didn't sit well with other members of the hip-hop community.

Speaking of Donald Trump, Kanye also told Harvey Levin that he'd made several called to Colin Kaepernick to try to set up a meeting between the activist and the current President. He also touches on his controversial statements about the 13th amendment.

Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian also confirmed the new release date via Twitter. "Black Friday YANDHI TRUST ME it is worth the wait," she wrote, followed by a string of emojis.
