After years of successful collaborations, Mariah Carey has reportedly hired longtime producer Jermaine Dupri as her new manager. Over the last two decades, the pair have collaborated on some of Mariah's most successful songs  including "Always Be My Baby," "We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off," and now Dupri will be helping to guide her career.

"A multi-talented artist of Mariah’s caliber should be doing everything imaginable. I'm sure others have said this, but not the way I intend to do it. For me, it's about the execution," Dupri said in a press statement.

The singer is in the process of recording her 14th studio album, The Art Of Letting Go, and in the midst of comeback after her Miguel-assisted single "#Beautiful" peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart after the single's release in May.

Dupri has been instrumental in guiding the careers of multiple multi-platinum artists such as Kris Kross, Jagged Edge, Da Brat, Bow Wow and Xscape as part of his Atlanta-based imprint, So So Def.

"We have a bond that surpasses music,” Carey said in a statement. “I am super excited about our merger because we have so many innovative ideas that I know will come to fruition."
