Three months after announcing his KOD Tour, J. Cole kicked off the first night of the trek in Miami. Taking the stage at the American Airlines Arena on Thursday (Aug. 9), Cole was joined by openers Young Thug, Jaden Smith and Earthgang, as he brought his catalog of hits to Florida.

The night started with sets from Thugger and Earthgang and even a surprise appearance from Will Smith, who joined Jaden to perform the "Icon (Remix)." But the night's main event was J. Cole, who performed tracks from his new KOD album, as well as songs from 2014 Forest Hills Drive and more.

One of Cole's best performances on the first stop of the tour was a rendition of "Neighbors," which Cole rapped while footage of White people who have called the cops on Black people for trivial issues played in the background.

The North Carolina MC even introduced his Kill Edward alter-ego to the Miami crowd, performing as the rapper during the show. Cole took the stage under dim light and smoke, as he tried to fool the crowd into believing Kill Edward was on stage.

Up next for Cole, the artist will bring the KOD Tour to Tampa, Fla. on Aug. 11. Cole, Smith, Thugger and Earthgang will then make stops in Atlanta, New Orleans, Columbus, Ohio, Philadelphia, Detroit and more before wrapping up on Oct. 10 in Boston.
