Chants from the shoulder-to-shoulder standing crowd of, “Iggy, Iggy, Iggy,” turned into, “What the fuck? What the fuck?” as they waited for Iggy Azalea come to the stage and perform for her scheduled 9 p.m., sold out show. The rapper, dressed in her signature hot pants and crop top—this time in bright pink—and an oversized baseball jersey, finally made an appearance around 9:30 p.m. and the crowd went wild, reverting to their favored chant. The 2012 XXL Freshman alumna performed her second show in New York City at Irving Plaza on Cinco de Mayo last night, as a part of the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour in support of her debut album, The New Classic, which debuted just two weeks ago.

For the night, Iggy Azalea fans were guests at "Hotel Iggy," with the stage made up of a mini art-deco style hotel front right off the Miami strip, complete with a neon sign that read The New Classic as the backdrop. The Australian rapper opened the show with her verse on Steve Aoki’s “Beat Down,” leading into more songs from her 2012 mixtape, Ignorant Art, including “My World” and “Pu$$y.”

Fans, some dressed in Iggy gear, sang along to the T.I.-assisted “Change Your Life” and twerked along when the rapper played a snippet of  2 Live Crew's "Hoochie Mama," and took off her oversized baseball jersey to flaunt her infamous and coveted curvesThe dancing continued when she performed her Billboard Hot 100 hit “Fancy.” She ended the show with the first single off of The New Classic, Work.” “No money, no family, 16 in the middle of Miami,” Iggy rapped as she looked out over the packed room full of fans. With the stage backdrop inspired by the Miami strip, it was a surreal moment showing just how far Iggy Azalea has come—and for her, this is just the beginning.—Tahirah Hairston
