Yesterday afternoon (March 4), Atlanta rapper T.I. made the hip-hop world and social media go crazy when he made the announcement that ATL 2, the sequel to the 2006 smash hit, was a go. Fans of the film remember ATL as the hilarious and heroic story of high schoolers trying to make it in The A. The Chris Robinson directed flick was Tip's big screen debut and a breakthrough role for the beautiful Lauren London. And now, it appears the cast is going back for more.

So on the heels of yesterday's awesome ATL 2 news, we rounded up some of our other favorite hip-hop inspired movies from the past twenty years that also deserve a sequel. You know you did the whole double-date, shared popcorn thing back in the day to see Brown Sugar or mobbed out with your crew to see if 50 Cent really could act in Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. Some of these movies starred rap greats like Tupac, Snoop Dogg and Mos Def, bringing hip-hop culture to a national stage.
