Floyd Mayweather Jr. Was On FaceTime With Earl Hayes During Murder-Suicide And Trey Songz Is Also Connected Somehow
Update (Dec. 11, 4:40 P.M.): According to a TMZ report, Floyd Mayweather sat for an interview with the LAPD for two-hours yesterday (Wednesday, Dec. 10) and the boxer told authorities that he desperately tried to talk Hayes out of taking his own life. Mayweather told the cops that he was on FaceTime Monday morning with Hayes when the rapper walked away from the phone and into the bathroom and Mayweather heard the gunshots that killed Stephanie Moseley.
Mayweather then told the police that Hayes returned to the phone and told his friend that he was going to shoot himself. Mayweather tried to dissuade Hayes but could not talk him out of it.
Update (Dec. 9, 1:39 p.m.): Hours after witnessing a Hayes' murder/suicide on FaceTime, Mayweather went to watch the L.A. Clippers-Phoenix Suns at Staples Center game courtside last night (Dec.8) and appeared to be in a pretty decent mood, according to TMZ. He was seen shaking hands and talking with Clippers stars Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford before tipoff.
Original Story: Yesterday (Dec. 8), rapper Earl Hayes and reportedly his wife Stephanie Moseley were found dead in their Los Angeles apartment, allegedly as a result of a murder-suicide perpetrated by Hayes. Now, TMZ is reporting that the catalyst for the tragic shooting could have been Hayes' fixation on Moseley's supposed fling with Trey Songz.
Friends of the late rapper, who was 34 at the time of his death, say that an affair Moseley had with Songz in 2012 led to a brief separation; since the couple reconciled, it had remained a point of contention. Moseley, 30, had worked as a backup dancer for several high-profile acts and was the star of VH1's Hit The Floor.
Hayes, once signed to Floyd Mayweather, had reportedly called the boxer on FaceTime before and during the murder. There was an outpouring of support for both of the deceased last night on Twitter and Instagram, with hip-hop artists such as Swizz Beatz, Hit-Boy, and DJ Skee mourning the loss of Hayes, while Songz and others extended condolences to Moseley's friends and family.
