Just barely over a year ago, Gucci Mane was sitting in a jail cell. Today (June 2), he popped up on Good Morning America to perform "Down," a new song he's got with pop group Fifth Harmony. The track is the first single the group's released since Camila Cabello left them to pursue a solo career this past December.

The new track, which the group dropped just a couple of days ago, features a bouncy, summer ready instrumental, an anthemic hook and, of course, a standout verse from Gucci, who just released his Drop Top Wop project last week.

"It's just like Bonnie and Clyde just walked in/A gangster and his bride walked in/We on the same team and we ballin'/Got me showin' off my ring like I'm Jordan," Gucci spits on the song, injecting the track with his own East Atlanta flavor.

Popping up on "Down" is just the latest step in Gucci Mane's march toward ubiquity. Since getting out of jail toward the end of last May, OG Guwop's dropped eight new projects and has appeared on tracks with seemingly every rap superstar under the sun. It's no wonder he's called the last 12 months his best ever.

“This has been the best year of my life,” Gucci told Beats 1 radio show host Zane Lowe. “It has been a hell of an experience, you know. And I just feel like the best way for me to celebrate is to celebrate with my fans that supported me all while I was gone. The fans who supported me the whole year I been back,” he added about releasing Drop Top Wop on the anniversary of his release.
