Fans React to the 2016 XXL Freshman Cover

It's that time again and the 2016 XXL Freshman Class has been unveiled. Marking the ninth annual issue, the franchise is just one year short of its ten year anniversary. For the past nine years, XXL has been on the pulse of the hip-hop's newcomers and as always, upon the reveal, the cover has the entire community talking. XXL compiled a gallery of some favorable and critical reactions to the cover. Check it out above.

This year’s class includes Oxnard, California’s Anderson .Paak; Atlanta’s 21 Savage; Pompano Beach, Florida’s Kodak Black; Philadelphia’s Lil Uzi Vert; Cheltenham Township, Pennsylvania’s Lil Dicky; Harlem’s Dave East; Carol City, Florida’s Denzel Curry; Brooklyn’s Desiigner; Chicago’s G Herbo and ATL’s Lil Yachty.

The Freshman issue hits stands on June 28, the same day as the concert at New York City’s PlayStation Theater. The Los Angeles Show will be on July 25 and other shows will be announced at a later date. Tickets are on sale now here.
