Fans hoping to wake up to a new Fabolous project on Christmas Day are getting The Grinch treatment as Fab announced that he is pushing back the release date of The Young OG Project 2. In November, the Brooklyn native announced that he was giving us a follow up to last year's The Young OG Project along with a new mixtape called Summertime Shootout.

The Ghetto Fabolous MC has carved out a nice niche for himself by dropping projects during the holiday season--an old school mentality that draws on a time when big albums dropped in the fourth quarter. But this year, Fab will keep us waiting for another run in 2016.

"I was supposed to drop The Young OG Project 2 on Christmas but I needed some more clearance time. My samples weren't clearing in time," he said in an interview with Hot 97. "[Summertime Shootout] performed very well so I wanted to give it some room to breathe. I want to shoot some videos off it. I'm going to push The Young OG Project to February and use the month of January to promote...You don't really realize how close Thanksgiving and Christmas are until you actually live it."

During his esteemed career Fabolous has released a project on Xmas Day. In 2011, he dropped There Is No Competition 3: Death Comes in 3’s, he followed that up with The S.O.U.L. Tape 3 in 2013 and last year, he released the aforementioned The Young OG Project. Along with Summertime Shootout, the New York City OG dropped Friday Night Freestyles in May.
