Dark Lo has been arrested by federal authorities,

A rep for the rapper, who dropped his American Made album earlier this year, says Lo was arrested and accused of witness tampering in connection with OBH affiliate Ar-Ab's federal drug-trafficking case on Nov. 7. He's been hit with a charge of tampering with a confidential informant and is currently behind bars at Philadelphia's Federal Detention Center. According to the rep, the incident began to unfold on the last day Lo attended one of Ar-Ab's hearings.

Last Thursday (Nov. 7), the prosecution for the case told authorities Lo's presence in the courtroom was making a testifying government witness feel uncomfortable. As a result, Lo, born Charles Salley, was asked to vacate the courtroom. Lo's rep says that after he left the courtroom, federal authorities met him at his home with a search warrant to look for "for any correspondence and communication Dark Lo may have had with the government witness prior to his testimony."

A day after his arrest, OBH member Lik Moss addressed Lo's arrest on Instagram, posting the message "Free Dark Lo Shit Crazy," on Nov. 8.

Ar-Ab, who landed a deal with Cash Money Records in 2016, was arrested last October and accused of running a drug-trafficking organization in Philadelphia that regularly distributed cocaine, crack, methamphetamine and heroin. The "How I Do It" rapper, born Abdul Ibrahim West, and eight other co-defendants were charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, crack and heroin, distribution of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm.

“The charges alleged in the superseding indictment are extremely serious, and if convicted, these defendants are facing major jail time,” said U.S. Attorney William M. McSwain at the time. “The investigation and prosecution of drug trafficking organizations remains a high priority of this Office and the Department of Justice. We are committed to doing everything we can to keep our streets safe and stop the flow of these deadly drugs into our communities.”

Dark Lo’s arrest takes place after the recent release of American Made, an album in which the subject matter highlights the vast social and political injustices suffered by African Americans throughout the course of American history; and still remains very prevalent today. We are confident that Dark Lo will be exonerated of all the charges levied against him and he appreciates all of the prayers and support he has received during this very trying time.
