Before the 2019 XXL Freshman Class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

Playtime is over for Charlotte's own DaBaby, who just signed a deal with Interscope Records in January. Formerly known as Baby Jesus, the 27-year-old rapper has been putting on for the Tar Heel state since 2015, when he dropped his debut mixtape Non Fiction. Since then, the baritone-voiced rapper with an outsized personality has been one of the hardest-working rhymers in the game, releasing another 10 projects including God’s Work Resurrected (2016) the Baby Talk mixtape series, Billion Dollar Baby (2017) and Blank Blank (2018), while working with artists like Lil Baby, Boosie BadAzz, Blac Youngsta and MoneyBagg Yo. His Interscope debut Baby on Baby dropped in March and peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Now that you've heard his pitch, remember to vote for your favorite artist beginning March 25. The 2019 XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class. Go here to make your vote count for your favorite artist.
