Chief Keef’s seemingly never-ending legal problems are unfortunately not behind him just yet. As reported by Associated Press, a judge in South Dakota has denied a motion to dismiss a drug charge he is facing as a result of his June 2017 arrest.

The rapper, born Keith Cozart, was arrested last summer at the Sioux Falls airport after security reportedly found drugs in his carry-on bag.

The rapper, who was in town for a concert appearance at the University of Sioux Falls, was charged with marijuana possession of between two ounces and a half-pound as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. Sources close to Keef said he forgot he had anything on him. He later pleaded not guilty to the felony and misdemeanor charges.

According to the Argus Leader, last week, a Second Circuit Court judge denied his motion to dismiss a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Per the rapper and his legal team, they were arguing that the THC-infused edibles he was carrying are not considered marijuana under South Dakota law because they contained no plant material. Unfortunately, the judge wasn’t buying it.

The Chicago rapper has previously been entangled with several legal issues, including being arrested for the assault of producer Ramsay Tha Great. Prosecutors have since dropped the charge against him and will not be pursuing further legal action.

Additionally, Keef was also arrested for DUI in April 2017 in Miami, with toxicology reports later allegedly finding eight different drugs were in his system at the time of his arrest. He also had a warrant out for his arrest in California in fall 2017, stemming from a car accident he was involved in. After missing a court date connected to the case, a judge issued the arrest warrant.
