Chance The Rapper Buys Tickets for People to See ‘Get Out’ for Free at Chicago Movie Theater
Besides you know what, Jordan Peele's new horror film Get Out has also been getting a lot of press over the weekend. The movie has been getting rave reviews and critical acclaim, and you can see it for free, if you happen to be in Chicago, thanks to Chance The Rapper.
Earlier today (Feb. 26), Lil Chano from 79th announced he bought all the tickets to the film at a local theater, just so fans could see the movie on his dime. "I bought all the tickets to #GetOut at Chatham Theatre on 87th Just pull up with ID and enjoy the movie," he wrote on Twitter.
Chance has seen the movie and is giving it his stamp of approval, adding, "DID I NOT TELL YALL #GETOUT WAS INCREDIBLE!! BEST FILM ACROSS ANY GENRE IN AWHILE GO SEE IT TODAY! Cc: @LilRel4 @JordanPeele."
Windy City OG Twista saw what Chance was doing and pledged to fund the next go round. "@chancetherapper we gotta keep this going I got the next movie," he posted at Chance.
Written and directed by Jordan Peele (Key & Peele), and starring relative newcomer Daniel Kaluuya, the film centers around a young interracial couple who run into some issues while visiting the girlfriend's parent's estate. It is as much of an exposition on race as it is a horror flick.
The film opened in U.S. and Canadian theaters on Fri. Feb. 24, grossing $10 million on opening day. It has since pulled in $30.5 million over the weekend, leading the box office.
