Back in April of 2017, Boosie BadAzz was pepper-sprayed while shopping at a Dillard's department store in Biloxi, Miss. At the time, the rapper drew a large crowd, which caused a loss prevention officer to use the pepper spray to disperse the crowd. Now, Boosie, who was sued for assault in the incident last April, is making his own point in court regarding his own lawsuit against Dillard's.

In a report published by The Advocate on Saturday (Jan. 5,) excerpts of the Boosie Blues Café rapper's pretrial testimony show that he feels that if he was a White star like Justin Bieber, he would have never been pepper-sprayed.

“You can’t blame the celebrity for being a celebrity,” Boosie said in his sworn testimony. “And you can’t, you can’t pick him out, you know... If I was Justin Bieber, I wouldn’t have got sprayed in there. If I was another actor, I wouldn’t have got sprayed in that mall. He would have asked me to take a picture with me, if I was, if I was White, if I was a White celebrity.”

Boosie also described the dialog between his entourage and Glen Kerley, the guard who sprayed Boosie with the pepper spray. Both Booise and his bodyguard allege that Kerley yelled, “Get out of my mall, boy,” before spraying them, and Boosie says the incident was racially motivated.

“I’ve been in every state in the world, and those are the only two, three states where you will hear ‘boy’ when you have an argument with somebody,” he said. “That’s old slave mentality.”

One charge of disorderly conduct and one charge of simple assault against Boosie are scheduled to be dismissed in late January unless he breaks local, state or federal laws. The rapper is seeking $30 million to $40 million in damages because of the repercussions he has suffered, including, what he says, is a newfound inability to book shows in the state.

A settlement conference for Boosie's lawsuit is scheduled for later this month, which would go to trial first if the case does not settle. The trial is tentatively set for April.

As for the overzealous security guard, he no longer works at Dillard’s and has filed his own lawsuit against Boosie and his security guard, accusing them of gross negligence, conspiring to assault him and assault. That trial is scheduled for September.
