After years of taking a backseat to other regions over the years, the DMV area has begun to make a measurable impact on the landscape of hip-hop, and Washington D.C. native Chaz French is primed to add his own unique flavor to that mix. Dropping out of high school and moving to Arlington, Texas in hopes of building a rap career, the excursion proved to be less than fruitful, landing the aspiring spitter back in his hometown of D.C. Disappointed, but motivated by a newfound purpose, Chaz would hit the ground running, first releasing his Happy Belated project. He followed that up with his breakthrough effort, These Things Take Time, which helped earn him a joint label deal with Motown/Capitol Records and R&B singer Raheem Devaughn's 368 Music Group.

"Way Out," his first release as a member of the Motown/Capitol Records family, would set the stage for Chaz French's debut album, True Colors. The LP serves as his introduction to the greater hip-hop community and one that showcases his versatile artistry. Running 17 tracks deep, True Colors is a slice of life in the District of Columbia and puts you in Chaz's shoes for the duration of the album. Featuring guest appearances from Curren$y, Casey Veggies, Phil Ade, Shy Glizzy and BJ The Chicago Kid, among other talent, True Colors finds Chaz compiling a collection of songs that is sure to give listeners insight to who he is as an artist and a person.
