Benzino was arrested Tuesday night (Jan. 27) at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after trying to sneak a loaded gun through security and onto a plane. According to law enforcement reports obtained by TMZ, a TSA official searched Benzino's bag and found a loaded 9-mm with 7 rounds in the magazine. The former rapper, magazine owner and reality star was released on $3,000 bail.

This is not the Hip Hop Weekly owner's only trouble at airports as of late. Last year, Benzino was kicked off a connecting flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta for harassing a flight attendant. The airline, AirTran, later apologized. But some of the former The Source owner's personal troubles have not ended so smoothly. Last March, he was reportedly shot while en route to his mother's funeral--by his own nephew. Benzino made a full recovery.

More recently, Benzino and his fiance Althea Eaton were fired from their roles on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. The catalyst for their dismissal was a brutal fight that took place on set of one of the show's reunion episodes; it was later reported that VH1, the cable network on which Love & Hip Hop airs, let Benzino go due to threats he had made against fellow cast member Stevie J's life. Benzino scoffed at the claim, calling Stevie "a habitual liar."

At press time, there was no word as to what charges, if any, Benzino might face.
