Azealia Banks Files Battery Report Against Russell Crowe
On Monday (Oct. 17), a news story broke detailing a strange hotel party scene in which Azealia Banks was thrown out of Russell Crowe's Beverly Hills Hotel suite. While Banks accused the actor of assaulting her, multiple witnesses describe the rapper as erratic, one account saying that she called Crowe and at least one other “boring white men” and made explicit threats toward other guests.
Now, TMZ is reporting that Banks has been in contact with Beverly Hills Police, filing a battery report and demanding an apology from Crowe, who maintains that he did nothing wrong. As the original report states, Crowe carried Banks out of the hotel suite after she reached for her glass and gave the impression of acting on her threats of stabbing a guest in the throat "like some real Tarantino shit.”
Banks was attending the party as a guest of the RZA, the rapper claiming to have signed to the Wu-Tang Clan leader’s label just last week. While accounts of the incident are conflicting, the initial report mentions that RZA confirms that it was Banks, not Crowe, using the n-word.
In a since deleted Facebook post, Banks wrote of the incident, “Last night was one of the hardest nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. The men in the room allowed it to happen. I feel terrible today... Just feel so low and mishandled and alone and fucking depressed right now. I wish I had someone to beat him up for me.”
