ASAP Bari Sues Sexual Assault Accuser for Defamation and Civil Extortion
A$AP Bari is taking his sexual assault accuser to court. On Monday (Aug. 13), TMZ revealed that the A$AP Mob member is filing a defamation and civil extortion lawsuit against the woman who accused him of sexual assault last year.
Bari says the woman, who filed a lawsuit worth more than $1 million against the rapper last year, didn't level the sexual assault accusation against him until she hired a lawyer. He alleges that point came well after police visited the hotel the both of them were staying in last July where the alleged incident occurred.
Bari, who was arrested by London authorities for the alleged assault this past May, claims that the woman told police that she hadn't been assaulted by the Vlone founder but that she was concerned about the leaking of a nude video. To handle the matter, Bari says, police deleted the video.
That same day, an Instagram user posted the infamous video clip on the social networking site. The footage showed Bari ripping a blanket off his accuser and telling her to perform oral sex on him. It went viral shortly thereafter. Bari says the video was taken without his knowledge.
News of Bari's lawsuit against his accuser comes three days after TMZ reported that the alleged victim dropped her suit against him.
Bari has maintained his innocence the entire time, and this defamation and civil extortion lawsuit implies that he believes the woman's claim was an attempt to take his money. He has yet to comment on this lawsuit.
