Anderson .Paak had his breakout moment in 2015 when he appeared on Dr. Dre's Compton: The Soundtrack album. Having shown his potential as one of the next big things in the music world, .Paak seizes the moment with his new album Malibu.

Featuring 14 tracks and guest appearances from ScHoolboy Q, Talib Kweli, Rapsody, 9th Wonder, Madlib, Kaytranada, and the well-received single "Room In Here" featuring The Game and Sonyae Elise, the artist formerly known as Breezy Lovejoy comes through with a solid project that is sure to elevate his status in the game.

.Paak recently caught up with Billboard and told the story of the first time he met Dre in the studio to work on Compton and played him his standout joint "Suede" from his collab project with Knxwledge. "I was like, 'Oh, shit -- Dre hasn't heard 'Suede' yet,' " he said. "I'm thinking he might just cut it off and walk out the room; he's notorious for that. But he started bobbing his head, then says, 'Play that again.' And he cranked it, bro -- I mean, it hurt my ears. After the third time, he was like, 'All right. Let's work.' "

In the same article, the Oxnard, California native revealed that he has more work with the super producer on deck.
