So, as you can tell, 21 Savage's new album, one he originally hinted was going to drop today (Dec. 7), isn't here. Still, that doesn't mean he's done supplying the fans with some new music. Yesterday (Dec. 6), the Atlanta rapper debuted a new track called "Immortal" in the official trailer for Mortal Kombat 11, which is slated to drop Apr. 23, 2019.

In the trailer, a gory fight between Dark Raiden and Scorpion ensues while 21's new banger acts as a soundtrack for the entire melee.

"Beat you off the ground just to knock you to the floor/Let’s go blow for blow," 21 raps. "Let’s go toe to toe/When it’s time to battle, they’ll never ever show/When it’s time to battle, I’m the first one at the door, at the door/Here we go."

Although it's featured in the video game, 21 does not confirm that his new joint will be included on his upcoming album, which he's just revealed will be titled  I Am > I Was.

This song arrived just a hours before folks expected to be hit with a new 21 album. Last month, the "No Heart" rapper tweeted "12-7-18" with no other details, which caused his loyal fanbase to assume that they were getting his next studio album. However, after the video game trailer dropped last night, 21 casually touched on the fact that his new album hadn't arrived.

"Dam I forgot to drop my album my bad y’all," 21 tweeted.

There aren't many details available about his new LP at the moment, but 21 did give XXL a better understanding of the project for his spring 2018 XXL Magazine cover story. Earlier this year, he told us that he plans to head back to his gangster roots.

“I’m going back gangsta,” 21 explained. “I’m going back to what brought me in the door. All that other music be cool. I don’t be knowing what the fans want ’cause it be like...they want, like, the ‘Bank Account’ music, but I don’t know. I wanna get back on some gangsta shit ’cause I feel like everybody rap about money and cars. Like they say I rap about too much guns and shit, but that’s what the hell be going on. That’s what really be going on, like, in real life."
