VH1 brought back its Hip Hop Honors ceremony Monday night (July 11), celebrating women in hip-hop with tributes to Queen Latifah, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott and Salt-N-Pepa. Many more musicians and celebrities were on hand, as rappers like Remy Ma, Da Brat and Lil Mama took the stage to pay homage to the honorees.

The red carpet was star-studded, with Eve, LL Cool J, Keke Palmer, Fat Joe and more in attendance. NBA Champion Iman Shumpert was even on hand, supporting his girlfriend Teyana Taylor, who dressed and performed as Lil Kim. Dej Loaf used the opportunity to deliver a message, as she walked the carpet in a black beret and green Army jacket that read "Stop Killing Us" on the back. Check out red carpet photos from the event up above.

The show itself featured a number of medley tribute performances and ended with Queen Latifah rapping her 1994 hit "U.N.I.T.Y." as she was joined on-stage by female MCs from throughout the years. “Where oh where in the world would I be? / Without the lovely ladies standing behind me / I’m telling you they taught me how to be a Queen / That’s why I know we need some L-Y-T-E in some Unity,” she rapped, and the sentiment encapsulated the love shared throughout the night.

“I want to thank these women that are sitting up here," Missy Elliott said to the crowd. "These women inspire me. I know all of their records and they are not just people that I’ve met in the industry, these are my sisters. We talk on the phone, we go to each other’s houses. It’s real. So I want to thank ya’ll, I love y’all so much."
