Young Thug Thanks Jay-Z for Certain Lyrics on ‘4:44’ Album
JAY-Z's transparency on his new album, 4:44 is touching a lot of people's souls, but one line in particular has Young Thug thanking the Brooklyn rap mogul.
Last night (July 1), Thugger posted a screenshot of a RapGenius annotation of a line from the Hov song, "Family Feud," where Jigga ponders the division between the old school and new school. "All this old talk left me confused/You'd rather be old rich me or new you?/And old niggas, y'all stop actin' brand new/Like Tupac ain't have a nose ring too, huh," Jay raps.
Thugger, who is a nose-ring wearer, was feeling the bar and its deeper connotation of not chastising the new school for stepping outside the box. He captioned the screenshot, "Thanks JAY...."
Thugger recently compared himself to the late great Tupac Shakur. Following the release of his new album, Beautiful Thugger Girls, the Atlanta MC was in a Makaveli state of mind and took to Twitter posting, “I dropped E.B.B.T.G. on 2PAC’S bday because I’m the #NewPac. I feel like I’m the thug he didn’t get to become,” adding the hash tag, #SoImGoinFinishWhatHeStarted, along with an emoji of a woman getting her hair cut.
Young Thug isn't the only rapper to have a positive response to the new Hov album. Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Joe Budden and more have all reacted to the project on social media.
