Haitian hip-hop personalities Wyclef Jean, Tony Yayo and Sha Money will supporting their homeland in a competition that could help the country.

Haiti is currently competing with 11 other countries in the BBC News "World Challenge '09," to earn a grant to extend their environmentally friendly waste management system.

Other rap related supporters who have all been named ambassadors of the project include Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons, former host of "106 & Park" and current Power 105 radio personality Free and The Wire actor Jamie Hector, among others.

Those interested can vote for the country, whose team is titled Love ’N Haiti, online. Voting ends on November 13. —Max G
