Less than three months after being bailed out of jail, Troy Ave takes you on a trip through one of America's most notorious prisons. Peep the new visual for "Rikers Island" above.

Troy Ave's latest video sees him trying to make the best out of life in prison, which, if you didn't know, is pretty unpleasant. In some scenes he's pouring liquor into his Coke bottle. In others he's brushing his hair or smoking a cigarette. Throughout the song, the Brooklyn rapper gives us a rundown of all the good and bad that comes along with living behind bars, where things like TV and a loaded commissary are as valuable as gold.  "Brothers with the muscle walking 'round like they tough/21 minutes on the phone ain't enough/Maxing out on commissary nigga I am rich/ TV off at nine cuz' the C.O. is a bitch," Troy raps in the song's first verse.

He continues, "All they yell is 'Free the real' while I'm in the tombs/ Get the Rikers blowing weed in the bathroom/In here doing time with some criminal minds/All we watch is A&E and criminal minds." The life Troy Ave describes isn't glamorous, but he sounds like he's used to it -- or at least as much as you can be. "Rikers Island" finds Troy adjusted to prison life, but at the end of the day, turning the TV off at nine still sucks. All in all, "Rikers Island" is a pretty insightful song with a cool video to match!

"Rikers Island" is a cut off Troy Ave's latest project, Roland Collins, which you can stream and download here.
