Tory Lanez has just jumped into a venture few would have predicted he would.

According to a report South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s published on Tuesday (June 11), the rapper-singer is opening up an ice cream shop in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The Grammy-nominated artist will open his frozen-treat parlor Notorious Creamery at 12 p.m. EST on June 15.

The 700-square-foot shop will feature a menu of 12 different vegan and non-vegan ice cream delights as well as milkshakes and fruit sorbets. The shop will be run by Lanez and general manager Bobby Velez, who describes his parlor as “an authentic, old-school shop, but with a modern, boutique twist."

According to Velez, Lanez became interested in co-owning an ice cream parlor after an arranged meeting with him through the rapper’s former personal bodyguard. When he pitched him the ice cream shop, he was excited about the business opportunity. “He’s always wanted to get involved in hospitality, and I just loved what he’s working on behind the scenes, creating new trends,” Velez told the newspaper.

In an April interview with XXL, Lanez expressed interest in being an entrepreneur and owning several businesses, including Notorious Creamery. He cited billionaire Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Diddy as artists who inspired him to take that path.

“I’m 26 and I’ve already accomplished half of the things they accomplished before they was this age,” he says. “Not to say that we’re not all in fair runnings, but the fact that I’m able to be this blessed at this age and know the things I know this early, I think I have what it takes to go beyond that.”

Here's to hoping Tory's latest venture is a big success.
