Hip-Hop continues to make big strides in its quest to find footing in the world of cinema, with music producer Timbaland and actress La La Anthony both joining forces with Leftfield Pictures to develop a new docuseries.

“I’m thrilled to be executive producing a project that offers a true insider’s look into the business side of hip hop, especially one that explores the lives of fascinating women who have used hip hop as their platform to become successful entrepreneurs in fashion, music and more,” said La La Anthony in a statement to Deadline, who broke the story.

The docuseries will be set in New York City and focus on Face Time Agency, a casting agency that specializes in booking models for some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B, including Drake, Kanye West and Robin Thicke. In addition to the glamorous aspects of the music industry, the series will also shed light on the more unsavory aspects of the rap game and showcase models, DJs and social media tastemakers grinding and clawing their way to the top.

“La La and Timbaland are perfect examples of what can be achieved when talent, determination and creativity collide with entrepreneurship,” Leftfield Entertainment CEO David George. “We’re thrilled to be in business with these two entertainment innovators to create a series that uncovers a unique, rarified faction of hip hop and provides a true soundtrack for the unpredictable journey toward fame and fortune.”

No official release date was available at this time, but the project appears to be moving along swiftly and more details should be announced sooner than later.
