Name: Dub

Age: 22

Hometown: Harlem, NY

I grew up listening to: The Diplomats, Fabolous, Jay-Z, Jadakiss and Nas to name a few.

Most people don't know I: Do a lot of things on my own. I'm like the jack of all trades, and I say that as humble as I can. There came a time where I didn't want to wait for somebody to design a mixtape cover or artwork period so I learned how to do it on my own. The same goes with videos; I always knew how I wanted my "look" to be seen and how I wanted it to come across, so through trial and error I was able to produce some great videos on my own. Even recording, I been recording and mixing a lot of my own music since 14 years old. I think it's just me wanting things done when and how I want. What other way to make that happen than to do it yourself? I even tried producing, but that wasn't really for me.

My style's been compared to: Fabolous' a lot - I also hear that the wittiness and slick wordplay is similar to Jay's and honestly I'm honored by it. It's almost like the people seeing the good that they see or saw in these artists in me. I think it's cool.

My standout records and moments to date have been: "All I Know" and "The Flow", which were both produced by AraabMUZIK. I would say those are my standout records as of now. I think those two have been most successful because of the lifestyle shown in the visuals. "All I Know" was very Harlem. You had your landmarks in there as-well as our everyday life captured as it was going on. "The Flow" was crazy too. We shot that video straight guerilla-style. We didn't really have a direction for the video, just had a big block party and decided it would look good on camera. It ended up fitting the song perfectly. All these people on this one block. It came out dope.

My goal in Hip-Hop is: To leave behind a strong legacy - I want to live forever. I want the people to understand me as a person as well as an artist. I want them to be able to look at me and vision what I see in myself. As long as I understand how I want the people to receive me while raising the bar at the same time I'll be good.

I'm gonna be the next: Force to be reckoned with. I'm going to be the first me, The first Dub!
