Smokepurpp cooked up a little something with TM88. The Florida rapper previewed a new track called “I Don't Want No Friendz,” which is produced by TM88. The brief snippet lets fans hear the trunk-rattling beat and the Auto-Tuned vocals of Smokepurpp.

The song will presumably appear on Smokepurpp’s upcoming mixtape DEADSTAR. The up-and-coming artist recently announced the project with the release of his single "Woah," which is produced by TM88 and Southside.

“On this project, I tried a lot of new different things and sounds,” Smokepurpp said in a recent interview. “DEADSTAR has no boundaries. I tried touching any sound I can touch, and I really don’t care how people feel about it cause I myself feel like I am the tape. The tape is really me.”

DEADSTAR will be Smokepurpp’s first project as a signed artist. The young MC inked a deal with Todd Moscowitz’s new label Alamo Records, which is part of the Universal Music Group family.

Moscowitz co-founded 300 Entertainment and held executive positions at Def Jam Recordings, Violator Management and Asylum Records throughout his career. He left 300 Ent. last year to start his own label.

Smokepurpp’s deal is another example of South Florida rap scene’s increased recognition. The growing profiles of artists like Smokepurpp, XXXTENTACION and Pouya have people paying close attention to the Sunshine State.
