ScHoolboy Q Says His Album Might Be Coming Out After SZA’s

Top Dawg Entertainment is looking to have another banner year. After dropping Kendrick Lamar's Damn. LP, the powerhouse L.A. label is prepping to turn up for the second half of 2017, with ScHoolboy Q recently announcing his album could be coming following the release of SZA's debut LP, CTRL.

ScHooly recently joined Ab-Soul on a YMF Tour date in L.A., along with SZA. Following a track, the "THat Part" rapper revealed the news, "And I just might have my album for y'all after SZA so I'm out here," he told the crowd, who erupted with cheers.

SZA, who has been at odds with the label at times, has finally been given the green light to drop her new album. It was recently revealed that SZA's project will come out on June 9.

Last month, TDE's CEO, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith revealed that Jay Rock will also be dropping a project this year.

After dropping his Blank Face LP last July, Q wasted no time prepping his new release. In February, he revealed he was already halfway finished with the project. “I just left the studio like 3 hours ago,” ScHoolboy told Zane Lowe during an interview. “I’m halfway done with it. I never been this inspired that fast.”

He went on to shed some light on the project's theme adding, “It’s more so my life after I made it to the point of ScHoolboy Q. I gave you me, but I never gave you the other side of me—the father, the dude that’s actually happy, the dude that doesn’t be in the hood just hanging out. The dude that’s trying to put his homies in position now.”
