Ice Cube has moved from the mean streets of Straight Outta Compton to a laugh-inducing trip in a whip in Ride Along 2 featuring his hilarious partner-in-crime Kevin Hart.

After the success of the original 2014 film, Cube and Hart return to the big screen for the comedy sequel, which is already set to take the No. 1 spot at the box office next weekend, knocking Star Wars: The Force Awakens from its top position.

If you're familiar with the Tim Story-directed Ride Along franchise, you already know that Atlanta police detective James Payton, played by the rapper, and Ben Barber, Hart's character, have a love-hate relationship. In this sequel, Barber is engaged to Payton's sister, which means they're on the cusp of becoming brothers-in-law -- a notion that annoys Payton.

Now Barber has moved from a high school security guard to a full-fledged police officer working in the same station as Payton. With wedding bells in the air, their boss assigns them to a case in Miami, where they will be working with the Miami Police Department in order to bring down a powerful drug lord. But police work quickly turns into hilarious antics as Barber and Payton bump heads more often than not.

"Uh oh, the brothers-in-law just got to town," Barber excitedly tells Payton in the car as the drive into Miami.

"If you say that one more I'ma shoot you in the face," he retorts, causing Barber to text him "The Brothers-in-Law!" instead -- let's not forget the cop emojis to go along with it.

From shootouts to alligator attacks and a lesson in cheese selection, there's something for everyone in this movie. Watch Ice Cube and Kevin Hart get down to business (and induce laughter) in the trailer for Ride Along 2, which opens in theaters Friday.
