There's a lot to look out for in the world of hip-hop television. Many of your favorite artists are getting roles on cable left and right. While most rappers are making brief guest-appearances, some are actually getting season long roles and many are even starring in shows completely centered around them. It's safe to say that hip-hop is thriving on TV more then ever before and on primetime too.

The line-up for the next few months of rappers on television is pretty solid. Childish Gambino's show on FX, Atlanta, premiered in September. The show is based on Earnest “Earn” Marks, played by Gambino, who returns to Atlanta after failing to make a career in the music business, only to find out his cousin is the city's next rising music star. Joey Badass picked up a reoccurring role on USA's Mr. Robot. The Brooklyn rapper plays Leon, a next door neighbor obsessed with Seinfeld. Birdman and French Montana guest starred on the upcoming third season of Empire, while Xzibit has was brought on to the show last season. Snoop Dogg was recently gifted his own late night show on Revolt TV along with a cooking show on VH1 co-starring Martha Stewart. Nicki Minaj is also working on her Nicki series for Freeform. The show will chronicle Nicki's 1990s migration from Trinidad to Brooklyn.
